2028 Election
The 2028 Cherokee Village Suburban Improvement District (SID) election will be held on January 13, 2028, to elect two commissioners to four-year terms ending in December 2033. The election will include the seats currently held by Susan Jett and Tony Stallsmith, whose plans regarding re-election have not yet been determined.
Additional details regarding this upcoming election cycle is anticipated to be available by mid-year (summer) 2027.
2026 Election
The 2026 Cherokee Village Suburban Improvement District (SID) election occurred on January 16, 2026, electing three commissioners to four-year terms ending December 2029. It replaced outgoing commissioners Joe Kaiser, Ron Page, and David Nebel.
Procedures
Property owners nominated 11 candidates at an October 20, 2025, meeting, where each had three minutes to speak. The election was held among property owners, with results certified shortly after January 16. The 3 new commissioners, Brent Hunstad, Steven Rorex, and Michael Myers were all sworn in around January 17-22.

Brent Hunstad won with 375 votes, Steven Rorex with 327 votes, and Michael Myers with 306 votes. They joined incumbents Susan Jett and Tony Stallsmith, who were not up for re-election. Unofficial results were reported by local media on January 16.
